Lorine Mays-Parker is a strategic planning associate in the Manufacturing Executive Business Office, Ford Motor Company. In MBO she is responsible for the coordination, development, and implementation of establishing a global manufacturing organization. She works in partnership with executive management providing business case analysis for strategic consideration and decisions. She is also the responsible for securing government funding for the support and implementation of new product programs in the United States and Canada.
Previously, Ms. Mays worked in the manufacturing operations for 15 years at AutoAlliance International (formally the Mazda plant), in Flat Rock, Michigan; a wholly owned subsidiary of Ford Motor Company. While at AutoAlliance she played a leading role in the launch of the plant and the development of the quality operating system. Ms. Mays was the Plant Vehicle Team Quality Supervisor responsible for the Single Agenda for Quality. Prior to leaving AAI she served as the Incoming Quality Manger.
Before joining Ford in 1987, Ms. Mays worked at General Motors Corporation for 10 years. She hired into Pontiac Motor Division's College of Manufacturing Management for college graduates in 1977. She spent time as a production supervisor in various areas, and as quality engineer in the Pontiac Fiero paint shop.
Ms. Mays is actively involved in Ford Motor Company's Employee Resource Groups. She is the past chairperson of Communications and Member Services for Women In Manufacturing, the current chairperson of Community Relations, Manufacturing chapter, for the Ford African Ancestry Network, and a member of the Board of the Professional Women's Network.
Her community involvement includes serving as a mentor to teenage girls in the Rhonda Walker Foundation. She is a currently a four year member of her homeowners Board of Directors and holds the position of secretary She is a member of the Links, Incorporated, Oakland County Chapter, an international African American women's community service organization where she is the chapter chairperson for The Arts. She is an active member of Trinity Church, Pontiac, Mi. In addition to her community service, she is an avid golfer.
Ms. Mays is a native of Chicago, Illinois. She received a bachelor's degree in business from Bradley University, Peoria, Illinois. In 2001 she obtained a master's degree in business administration from Baker College, Auburn Hills, MI.
